Even governments think we should be happy!
Happiness is to be sought;
if we are not happy, then we ought
to be.
“Happy” is replacing “blessed” –
receiving from God used to be stressed.
To be
happy’s not the highest aim;
love, peace and joy are what Jesus came
to give.
He desires us to be blessed.
He doesn’t want us to feel stressed –
but give
Him our love, worship and praise
so we know peace and joy all the days
we live.

I like that. (I’m a Christian, too.) I also enjoyed your post about the origins of expressions. As a word nerd, that kind of stuff makes me almost as happy as playing with numbers!
