Flight Switch
It’s 9 a.m. and rather damp,
but fairly light, so why
is there one street lamp
showing orange against the grey sky?
I look around; no others on –
Look up – and see a dove
and mate cooing. Gone –
flown off; the sensor’s lit from above.
Ah that`s because they`ve made it to our bird table! Thank you for leading me to your lovely poem.
I’m glad you like it. Sue

Hi to my avian friend gooseyanne!
And well done, Sue! SoundEagle especially likes the rhyming scheme, because all of SoundEagle’s poems also rhyme in various ways.
As for “Look up – and see a dove”, you can enjoy more doves both in the image and the poem at http://soundeagle.wordpress.com/2013/04/10/soundeagle-in-april-love-and-dove-art-and-heart-game-and-puzzle-music-and-video/, where you can also genuinely play a game and a puzzle right at the very post!
