This is the second book about the kingdom of Anestra. It was published recently and I bought it at a writer’s retreat. As it is a young adult book (YA) I am not part of the target audience, although I enjoy this genre.
In Destiny’s Revenge the characters from Destiny’s Rebel have more responsibilities and have learned to get on with them rather than to run away. The book is a quest. It begins happily although there are underlying tensions. Disaster strikes in the first chapter. There are physical battles and an ongoing war between good and evil. Some unexpected twists in the plot raise questions about which characters are trustworthy.
I did not enjoy this book quite as much as Destiny’s Rebel, but that possibly says more about me than about the book, which is well-written and imaginative. I am looking forward to reading Destiny’s Ruin.
