When I began reading this book I was excited to find maps and plans of an imaginary land. While I enjoy many YA books, I am not in the target age group. At the beginning I found some of the thoughts of the main character irritating. Later on I began to appreciate her reactions to events. As I became engrossed in the story I could hardly put this well-produced book down. There were a number of unexpected twists and turns in the plot. The exciting scenes were described vividly, drawing the reader in. All the loose ends were tied up, making me wonder about the scope for a sequel. (I concluded that there is plenty of scope.) It has potential as a film too.
I shall definitely make the leaders of the local youth group aware of Destiny’s Rebel.
